White underbase
A white underbase is a production ink plane printed beneath colour so the substrate does not show through and weaken the intended appearance. In DTF it is commonly derived from artwork alpha, then adjusted with threshold, choke, amount, soft-hand patterning, or halftone. It is separate from the colour composite.
In practice
The mask needs an explicit source, polarity, name, and mapping. A clean colour edge can still produce wrong white if threshold or choke is unsuitable; a correct mask can still fail through RIP mapping or physical registration.
