RIP preset
A RIP preset is a saved handoff recipe that groups choices such as container, colour model, ICC profile, alpha handling, spot counts and names, mirror state, and other export defaults for a target workflow. It reduces repeated setup, but it proves only the file writer’s configuration—not acceptance by every RIP version or queue.
In practice
Presets should be versioned and tested with a small diagnostic file containing known colour, full-white, no-white, and intermediate regions. Record the target RIP version and device queue beside the result.
When a preset changes, repeat the import and physical control. A familiar preset name cannot substitute for byte structure, plane mapping, and an exact current receipt.
