DTF Glossary
Mirror (image reversal)
Mirroring reverses the output horizontally so a transfer reads in the intended orientation after it is applied. Whether reversal belongs in artwork, prepress, the export recipe, or the RIP is a workflow decision. Applying it twice cancels it; applying it nowhere can make text and directional graphics print backwards.
In practice
Choose one controlled boundary to own mirroring and document it in the queue receipt. Use an asymmetric test mark or readable word so a mistaken preview cannot pass unnoticed.
NestSheet export rows can carry a mirror choice, including DTF-oriented defaults. The operator must still verify the final RIP preview because another queue setting can add or remove reversal.
